The Irish Cultural Society Step Dancers dance under the direction of Maureen Murphy King. The dancers take three to four lessons per month and great emphasis is put on Irish heritage and culture. The dancers perform quite a bit each year. Their major performances take place at Jack Frost Mountain in the Poconos for the Memorial Day Weekend Celtic Festival. The dancers also participate in the Scranton "St. Patrick's Day" Parade and St. Peter's Cathedral "St. Patrick's Day Parade" Mass. The dancers also perform at many nursing homes and churches throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
